World Teachers’ Day: Remi Tinubu hails educators, calls for urgent action on teacher shortage
As the world celebrates 2025 World Teachers’ Day, Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has paid glowing tribute to teachers while urging global action to tackle the deepening shortage of educators.
Marking the occasion with this year’s theme, “Focusing on the Global Teacher Shortage”, Senator Tinubu described teaching as one of society’s noblest callings and emphasized the critical need to invest more in those who shape the future.
“The shortage of teachers is a challenge we must confront with urgency by empowering educators, investing in their growth, and inspiring more people to join this noble profession,” she said on Sunday.
She praised the commitment and resilience of teachers across the world, describing them as “true heroes who shape minds, nurture dreams, and guide generations.”
“As a lifelong teacher myself, I salute you all on this special day,” she added.
Senator Tinubu extended warm wishes to teachers in Nigeria and around the world, reaffirming her commitment to supporting initiatives that enhance the teaching profession and promote access to quality education.
