2027: Guwor Urges Gbaramatu People to Back Tinubu, Oborevwori, APC

The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly and Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures in Nigeria, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has urged the people of Oporoza and the entire Gbaramatu Kingdom to sustain their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Guwor made the call on Monday during the commissioning of a modern market in Oporoza, the traditional headquarters of Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State.

Speaking outside the prepared speech delivered at the ceremony on behalf of Governor Oborevwori, the Speaker said the Tinubu and Oborevwori administrations had demonstrated commitment to the development and welfare of the people of the Niger Delta.

He urged the people to reciprocate what he described as the administrations’ developmental efforts by voting for Tinubu, Oborevwori and all candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 elections.

Speaking as a son of Gbaramatu Kingdom, Guwor declared that the community would make its political position known through its votes.

 “I am speaking as a son of the soil. Unequivocally, we will speak very loud. Not even one vote from Gbaramatu Kingdom will go to any other person. Mr. President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has been so gracious to our people,” he said.

The Speaker said economic opportunities created through companies and initiatives operating in the Niger Delta had positively impacted residents of the region.

“You hardly can find any man or woman that is not benefiting in one way or the other from Tantita or Maton,” Guwor stated.

He further expressed confidence that traditional rulers, chiefs, women and other community leaders would mobilise residents behind the APC in the forthcoming elections.

“Every vote from Gbaramatu Kingdom will go to Mr. President and all the candidates of APC across board. I strongly trust our women. I trust them that they are very strong. They will be ready, including our elders,” he said.

Guwor also highlighted ongoing and proposed development projects in Oporoza and the wider Gbaramatu Kingdom, describing the newly commissioned market as evidence of government’s commitment to improving the living conditions and economic prospects of riverine communities.

According to him, the modern market would boost commercial activities, create opportunities for traders and stimulate economic growth in Oporoza and neighbouring communities.

He urged residents to continue supporting the Oborevwori administration and cooperate with government to attract more development to the area.

The commissioning of the market is part of efforts to improve infrastructure, strengthen economic activities and promote sustainable development in Oporoza and other riverine communities across Delta State.
