The Ughelli South United Forum (USUF), a political pressure group in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State, has congratulated Dr. Ricardo Oghenerho Oguma (JP) on his emergence as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Ughelli South Constituency 2 in the 2027 general elections.

Dr. Oguma emerged as the consensus candidate of the APC in the recently concluded House of Assembly primary election conducted for the constituency, an outcome the group described as a testament to his acceptance, loyalty and commitment to the party.

In a congratulatory statement signed by the Chairman of USUF, Ambassador (Chief) Godwin Okporoko, who is also the Executive Assistant on Security Matters to the Delta State Governor, the group described Dr. Oguma’s emergence as a significant development for the APC and the people of Ughelli South Constituency 2.

The group expressed confidence that Dr. Oguma would bring his wealth of experience, dedication and knowledge to bear in representing the interests of the constituency if elected in 2027.

USUF also commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his confidence in Dr. Oguma, noting that the Governor’s recognition of his capacity and commitment was an indication of the trust reposed in him.

The group further expressed appreciation to APC leaders, youths and women across Ughelli South Local Government Area for their support and contributions towards Dr. Oguma’s emergence as the party’s candidate.

According to the group, the successful emergence of Dr. Oguma also reflects the continued goodwill enjoyed by his family within the political structure of the area.

It noted that the APC had, in a significant gesture of recognition and appreciation, honoured Chief John Oguma by supporting his son, Dr. Ricardo Oghenerho Oguma, to secure the party’s ticket for Ughelli South Constituency 2.

USUF urged all party members and supporters to close ranks and work together to ensure victory for the APC in the 2027 general elections. It stressed that unity, discipline and collective commitment would be essential to translating the party’s current momentum into electoral success.

The group also called on the people of Ughelli South Constituency 2 to support Dr. Oguma, describing him as a credible, accessible and experienced political figure with the capacity to effectively represent their aspirations at the Delta State House of Assembly.

Recall that Ambassador Okporoko had earlier described Dr. Oguma as a tested, loyal and committed member of the APC who had consistently demonstrated his dedication to the party and deserved the opportunity to represent the constituency.

USUF expressed optimism that Dr. Oguma’s candidature would further strengthen the APC in Ughelli South and contribute to the party’s broader political objectives in Delta State ahead of the 2027 elections.
