TENSION is rising in Edjekota Community of Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State as suspected Fulani herdsmen destroyed farmland and crops belonging to Prof. Patrick Muoboghare, former Commissioner for Higher Education.

An agitated Muoboghare who expressed deep displeasure over the destruction of his farmland by cattle rearers, accusing the Fulani herdsmen of repeated incursions and devastation of crops in his community.

A distraught Muoboghare in a phone call to Vanguard insist that he will kill any cow that dare stray into his farm again, vowing to damn the consequences.

In his lamentation, Muoboghare urged all Urhobo people to desist from eating cow meat and called on the entire Urhobo land to decide that no cow should be seen in any part of their territory.

The Professor further warned that if the Fulani herdsmen failed to heed his warning, a civil war could start from his farm.

He stated that “Not because of political correctness should Fulani herdsmen be starving us, destroying our farms, and we keep quiet because of political correctness.

“These uncircumcised Fulani herdsmen brought their Cows  to my farm to feed, killing all my crops.  They should be very sure that very soon the battle will start. Any cow we see, we will kill unless they come and do the needful very quickly.”

Muoboghare added that the destruction of farmlands had pushed him to the brink, stressing that his reaction would be “worse than Boko Haram” if the situation persists.

He further urged the Urhobo people to rise in unity, insisting that if they collectively resist, “they will all run away.”

He maintained that if herders continue bringing in cattle and if they refused  heed to these warnings “we will be left with no option rather than   civil war, nobody is a second-class citizen to any other person.” He added
