Wike: Tinubu’s intervention will end Rivers political crisis
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has expressed firm optimism that the lingering political crisis in Rivers State is nearing its end, crediting President Bola Tinubu’s decisive intervention for the breakthrough.
Wike spoke to journalists in Abuja on Tuesday after inspecting a number of ongoing projects, describing the President as a stabilising and unifying force in the face of the protracted standoff between the state’s executive and legislative arms.
According to him, Tinubu’s involvement has been pivotal in restoring calm and setting the stage for reconciliation in the oil-rich state.
“I believe, by the grace of God, this will be the last time the president will be troubled with this matter, and the Rivers people will no longer hear such discord,” Wike said.
His remarks signal renewed hope that months of political tension in Rivers State may finally give way to lasting peace.
