Just In: Nenadi Usman set to take over Labour Party National Secretariat

All is now set for the official takeover of the National Secretariat of the Labour Party (LP) by Senator Nenadi Usman, who is widely regarded as the first female National Chairman of a major political party in Nigeria.

The party’s national secretariat, located in the Utako District of Abuja, was previously occupied by the Julius Abure–led faction until the recent decision of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which formally recognised Senator Usman and her leadership team.

Following INEC’s recognition, visible preparations are already underway at the secretariat. A banner bearing the photographs of Senator Nenadi Usman and the Acting National Secretary, Senator Darlington Nwochocha, is being mounted around the premises ahead of an event expected to herald a new chapter for the party.

The development signals a significant shift in the Labour Party’s leadership structure and direction.
