GUBER 2027: Oborevwori Unchallenged as Deltans Back Continuity -Says Jephthah
The Special Assistant on Political Matters to the Governor of Delta State, Comrade John Jephthah, has declared that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori remains largely unchallenged ahead of the 2027 governorship election, dismissing recent claims in some political circles that there would be “no automatic ticket” for APC governors.
Jephthah described such arguments as speculative and detached from the political realities on the ground in Delta State, stressing that Governor Oborevwori’s performance in office has already secured him overwhelming acceptance among Deltans.
According to him, since assuming office, the Governor has consistently translated his MORE Agenda into measurable achievements across key sectors, including infrastructure development, workers’ welfare, education, healthcare delivery, and rural development.
“The Governor’s leadership has entrenched peace, inclusiveness, and balanced development across the three senatorial districts. These are visible and verifiable outcomes that resonate deeply with the people,” Jephthah said.
He noted that while political parties may have internal guidelines and procedures, it is ultimately the electorate that determines continuity in governance through their collective will.
Jephthah further asserted that there is currently no credible opposition structure capable of challenging Governor Oborevwori’s widespread acceptance across the state.
“There is no tension or rejection in the polity. What exists is confidence, stability, and strong public support for the current administration,” he added.
He also pointed out that the Governor has strengthened party unity and deepened stakeholder engagement, with traditional institutions, youth groups, women’s groups, and community leaders aligning strongly with the administration’s development-driven agenda.
“In practical terms, Governor Sheriff Francis Oborevwori has no serious contender going into 2027. This is not about entitlement or imposition; it is about performance, credibility, and the trust of Deltans,” Jephthah stated.
He concluded that the anticipated massive support for the Governor in 2027 would represent a democratic endorsement of proven leadership and continuity.
“With the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the MORE Agenda of Governor Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, Deltans should expect Renewed Hope for MORE in 2027,”
Jephthah affirmed, adding that the people of the state will vote overwhelmingly for the Governor because they believe in results, development, and practical governance.
