Akugbene-Mein Kingdom honours Prof. Ebobrah's Vice Chancellor appointment
Akugbene-Mein Kingdom in Bomadi LGA, Delta State, has Monday celebrated Prof. Solomon Tamaraubrakemi Ebobrah's appointment as Vice Chancellor of the University of Africa (UAT) Toru-Orua, Bayelsa State.
The event drew prominent stakeholders, including HRM Pere S.P Luke (Kalanama VIII) Ogiame, Pere of Akugbene-Mein Kingdom, HRM (Dr.) Justice F.F. Tabai JSC (RTD) Pere Esuku 1st, Hon. William Angadi, Chairman Bomadi LGA, and education sector leaders.
PEBNEWS reports that Prof. Ebobrah is an established legal scholar and recipient of several awards, he is happily married to Christian Lokoja Ebobrah and they are blessed with three boys. A Chief Magistrate and Deputy Chief Registrar of the High Court in the Bayelsa State Judiciary.
During the ceremony, the Pere of Akugbene-Mein Kingdom, HRM Pere Luke, announced a scholarship offer to encourage students: "I'm challenging somebody in this gathering, if there's one Akugbene son and girl who is ready to study law, I'II cover the school fees from 100 level to law school. But if they're more than one, i will set up a committee for selection, and those who came out 1st will be sponsored." He announced.
Speaking further, he revealed how he is committed to spending more than 10 million naira annually to students' scholarship, and not just Akugbene indigenes.
Meanwhile, Pere Esuku praised Prof. Ebobrah: "In gatherings of law professors, Ebobrah is respected. He's a great man, and I'm happy for him," he partly stated.
On the part of Prof. Barclays Ayakoroma, DUC, UAT, thanked the community for their love and unity and prayed for more joyous occasions.
Prof. Solomon Ebobrah in his brief remark, thanked the public for the massive attendance and honour. He further appreciated the Pere of Akugbene-Mein Kingdom, stressing that "he's extremely grateful."
