        IIG Commends Joel-Onowakpo Bill to Establish Oil and Gas Institute in Emede
        The Isoko Integrity Group (IIG) has lauded Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas, representing Delta South Senatorial District, for sponsoring a bill seeking to establish the Oil and Gas Content Development Institute in Emede, describing the move as a landmark step toward youth empowerment and regional growth.
The Isoko Integrity Group (IIG) has congratulated Distinguished Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas, FCA, representing Delta South Senatorial District, following the successful first reading of his bill for the establishment of the Oil and Gas Content Development Institute, Emede.
The group, in a statement jointly signed by its National Convener, Hon. Ovie Vincentino Oberebo, and Publicity Secretary, Sir Divramredje Lawrence Efeturi, described the legislative effort as a visionary initiative that underscores Senator Joel-Onowakpo’s unwavering commitment to the development of Isoko Nation and the Niger Delta region at large.
According to the statement, when passed and signed into law, the proposed institute will serve as a hub for youth empowerment and technical training in vital oil and gas skills, thereby enhancing local capacity and reducing dependence on foreign expertise in line with the objectives of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB).
The IIG noted that the bill reflects the senator’s dedication to sustainable empowerment, human capital development, and inclusive regional growth, urging stakeholders across Delta South to support its passage.
The group reaffirmed its confidence in Senator Joel-Onowakpo’s legislative vision and expressed optimism that the institute, once established, would drive innovation and economic opportunities for communities in Isoko and beyond.
