Delta Govt Approves Staff of Office Presentation to Udu Monarch
The Delta State Executive Council, under the leadership of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, has approved the presentation of the Staff of Office to the Ovie of Udu Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Engr. Mike Oghenovo Orugbo, Okporua I, marking a significant step toward strengthening traditional institutions in the state.
The Executive Chairman of Udu Local Government Council, Olorogun (Hon.) Vincent Ogheneruemu Oyibode, JP, FCIA, has expressed profound appreciation to the Delta State Executive Council (EXCO) for its swift ratification and approval of the presentation of the Staff of Office to the Ovie of Udu Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Engr. Mike Oghenovo Orugbo, Okporua I.
The approval was granted during the State Executive Council meeting held on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at the Government House, Asaba, presided over by Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.
In a statement issued by his Press Unit, Oyibode commended the Governor for his visionary leadership, charismatic governance, and developmental strides across Delta State, describing him as “a leader with a heart for the people.”
He said the prompt approval of the Staff of Office presentation reflects Governor Oborevwori’s deep respect for traditional institutions and his unwavering commitment to promoting peace, unity, and cultural heritage throughout the state.

Sheriff Oborevwori, and the entire Delta State Executive Council for their timely approval of this historic event. While congratulating HRM Engr. Mike Oghenovo Orugbo, Okporua I, on the milestone, the Udu Council Boss prayed for divine wisdom, peace, and sustainable development throughout his reign.>
“I pray that Almighty God endows our revered monarch with the wisdom of Solomon to lead the Udu Kingdom to greater heights, fostering peace, progress, and unity among our people,” he added.
The approval paves the way for the formal presentation ceremony, which is expected to further strengthen the traditional institution and foster harmony and development within the Udu Kingdom.
