Ofugara Peace and Unity Football tourney kicks off October I

All is now set for the 4th edition of the Ofugara Peace and Unity annual Football tournament  which commence on Thursday, October I, 2026 at the  Okotogbo  Primary lSchool, Effurun in Uvwie  Local Government Area of Delta State.
    
This was made known recently  by the Chairman Local Organizing Committee,Mr Edema Fuludu,former Super Eagles player during the draws held at the Protea Hotel along NPA Expressway, Ekpan, Uvwie Local Government Area.

According to him, the opening match, will see  the defending  Champion, Delta All Stars International taking on Ex-Leopards in Group A.

He however  reminded all participating teams that  any player found trying to falsify his age will be penalize and points deducted from the team he is playing for.

The Chairman Organizing Committee of the tournament described the Ofugara  family anchor man,Mr. Silva Ofugara as a fantastic and wonderful man who believes in oneness and peace.

Over 32 teams are  participating in this year's edition with the  winner carting home a whopping sum of #10 million as the   prize money and a trophy.

In his  goodwill message, a member of the  Board of trustees, Mr. Silva Ofugara said, the annual tournament is a celebration of shared identity, resilience and unwavering commitment to peace.

On her part, Mrs Antoinette Ofugara Obiuwevbi Esquire stated that the Ofugara Peace and Unity annual Football tournament is not just about winning on the pitch but about the victories they achieve off it,forging bonds that transcend borders, culture and differences.

The opening match will witness side attraction performance from stand out Comedians and Musicians.

On Sunday, October 4,2026, Daudu United takes on Okpe All Stars, Ugbokodo at Okotogbo Primary lSchool field in group F encounter by 10.am to while Ex-Mowoe will engage  Ovwian United in the same venue by 2.pm on Sunday, October 4.
