Tantita empower 20 widows with ₦20 million in Bomadi
Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, in partnership with Tombraski Security Company, on Tuesday disbursed ₦20 million to 20 widows in Tuomo and Bomadi communities under its widows’ empowerment project.
The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) intervention, held at the Tantita base in Bomadi, provided ₦1 million each to selected beneficiaries to start or expand small-scale businesses and achieve economic self-reliance.
Addressing beneficiaries, Pastor Seimode Akposafagha Benedict, Community Relations Manager, Tantita, said the support was designed to promote dignity, productivity, and stability in host communities.
“The financial support of ₦1 million provided to each beneficiary is intended to help you establish sustainable small-scale businesses, improve your means of livelihood, and promote economic self-reliance.
"Manage these funds with prudence, discipline, and accountability. Invest in viable ventures, keep simple records, and give your businesses the commitment needed to grow.
"Use this empowerment wisely—not merely as assistance received today, but as the foundation for lasting economic independence, prosperity, and a brighter future,” he partly stated.
Tonbebe Johnny, Chief Executive Officer, Johnbraski Nigeria Limited, a subcontractor to Tantita, explained the strategic intent behind the project.
“When we came on board, pipeline vandalisation was a norm. Many of these women were involved in the buying and selling of refined products to earn a living. For us to take them off that path, we had to re-integrate and engage them.
"Today, we have empowered 20 persons who were deeply involved in that value chain with ₦1 million each. This is just Phase One. We have a reserved list and, as part of our CSR, we will reach out to others,” Johnny stated.
The beneficiaries, drawn from Tuomo, Ayamasa, Bomadi, Ogbosuware, Foutorugben, and environs, described the intervention as life-changing.
Baba Ekpotonmene Philo, Bomadi, a widow and person living with a disability, said:
“I am a widow with four children and I was struggling to feed. This morning I had nothing. I could not open my shop since last year. I am very excited and I pray for Tantita.”
While Joy Ebitonmor Michael, Bomadi, a widow with six children, said:
“For nine years since my husband died, there has been no helper. Today, Tantita has changed my narrative. I am the happiest woman in the world today.”
However, Okosi Ebi Favour, who resides in Bomadi, a garri seller, said:
“I lost my husband three years ago with five children. I have never saved up to ₦500,000 before, and I have never seen this kind of money. May God continue to bless Tantita for putting smiles on our faces.”
