NDLEA, Civil Rights Group, leads war Aainst Drugs Warri, Uvwie Environs, Vows to Arrest, Prosecute Offenders
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency,NDLEA Warri Area Command, Delta State on Friday vowed that the NDLEA will arrest and prosecute anyone caught with drugs and other illicit substances within the Command just as the NDLEA in collaboration with Citizens Rights Concern Enhancement Initiative a.k.a, Human Rights Protection Congress, HRPC led the war against drug abuses with United Nations 2026 sensitization campaign against drug abuses and illicit substances in Warri, Uvwie and its environ.

The Warri Area Commander, NDLEA Dabara Ishaku made the vow during a chat with newsmen during the sensitization campaign.
He said"We will take him to the office,we will ask him to write statement and if actually he has a drug with him, we will prosecute him."
He warned that the NDLEA does not allow anyone to move about with drugs in the streets.

Ishaku also urged youths to shun drugs to better and improve their lives for their own good with that of their families and their immediate society.

According to him, if they take and abuse drugs, it will not work for their good. "Drug kills and affects the educational background. Memory is lost. I advice them to stop taking drugs."

Meanwhile, the Citizens Rights Concern Enhancement Initiative a.k.a,Human Rights Protection Congress,HRPC have urged the NDLEA go after drug barons, arrest and prosecute them so that will serve as a deterrent to other in the Country.
Citizens Rights Concern Enhancement Initiative a.k.a, Human Rights Protection Congress,HRPC's National Public Relations Officer and Secretary, Comrade Harrison Itulua and Comrade Kelvin Ejumudo made the call on behalf of the organization separately.
Comrade Itulua said once drug barons are caught, there should be no mercy for them in the form of bail collection from them but be prosecuted and sent to Jail.
He warned that when bail is collected from them,they(drug barons) believe it is business as usual and so return to the illicit trade
He noted that there's,drugs in large quantities" that are allegedly trafficked into the society by drug barons.

He said,"once they're caught, to me,they should be detained properly, kept in protective custody for sometime, try as much as possible to rehabilitate and reintegrate them into the society to their families because they have a job to do.
Itulua said, NDLEA's core duty is to arrest drug offenders,drug cartel in the society. "When you kill the bad fowl, there will be no bad eggs in the society.
"For the people that are taking drugs, in lower/consumer quantity, it's for the NDLEA to go after them first of all, arrest, locate the barons that is trafficking to them consuming it, rehabilitate and reintegrate them to society
Citizens Rights Concern Enhancement Initiative a.k.a,Human Rights Protection Congress,HRPC's National Secretary,Comrade Kelvin Ejumudo said the NDLEA must up their games by ensuring that the drug peddlers and baros are apprehended, prosecuted and remand in prison custody.

Ejumudo who is also a Senior Special Assistant to Delta State Governor on Human Rights pointed out that the drug Lords now have new mechanized ways of disposing drugs.
He noted that,"Even NDLEA Operatives uncovered Mexicans in Nigerian soil producing in the forest. So, they must get more devices, more drones and more laboratories to test and detect drugs. Anyone that is caught should face the law. The law is clear for all of us."

The duo of Itulua and Ejumudo also enjoined the youths and teenagers to shun drugs abuse as well as stay from crime and criminity to make their lives better.
NDLEA and Citizens Rights Concern Enhancement Initiative a.k.a,Human Rights Protection Congress,HRPC who were joined by Friends Against Drug Abuse Foundation,FADAF, Community Anti-Drug Abuse Advocacy Initiative,CADAAI with the Office of Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Human Rights,Youth Corpers and Secondary School students began the sensitization campaign began the campaign at the office of the NDLEA Warri Office.
They matched through Atie-Arubi street, Bazunu, Igbudu market, Ometan, Lower Erejuwa, Hausa Quarters, McDermot Junction and Deco Junction.
They beared placards with inscriptions such as,"Say No Drug Abuse" and "Stop Drug Abuse","stop Colos, you fit Kolo,"Plant Cassava and not Igbo. Igbo nor be cassava" amongst others.
The theme for the United Nations 2026 Internations International Day against Drug Abuse/Illicit substances is"The World Drug Problems: Persisting issues, new challenges,innovative responses".
