Adowei Emerges Unopposed as NDC Senatorial Candidate for Delta South
Chief Freedom Adowei Binaebi has emerged as the sole candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the Delta South Senatorial District after winning the party’s senatorial primaries unopposed on Thursday.
Binaebi secured the ticket at the party’s primary election, positioning him as the NDC flagbearer for the 2027 general elections.
Addressing delegates and supporters after his emergence, Binaebi pledged to offer purposeful representation anchored on development and accountability.
“The Senate is not a retirement home. It is a battlefield for development. I am ready to fight for my people,” he said.
The NDC chieftain said his focus would be on tackling infrastructure gaps, creating opportunities for youths, and ensuring Delta South gets a fair share of federal projects and resources.
Party stakeholders described his emergence as a reflection of broad consensus within the NDC in the senatorial district ahead of the 2027 polls.
