The Delta State Police Command has arrested two suspected armed robbers and recovered firearms and live ammunition in separate operations across the state.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, March 26, 2026, by the Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Command, SP Bright Edafe, the Command said the arrests were part of its sustained efforts to curb violent crime and strengthen public safety.

According to the statement, operatives of the Command attached to A’ Division, Warri, on March 9, 2026, at about 5:00am, responded to a distress call from Egbokodo Itsekiri Community, following a report of an attempted armed robbery at a private residence.

The police said the patrol team, in collaboration with members of the community, cordoned off the area and arrested one suspect identified as Emmanuel Solomon, aged 38, within the premises.

A search of the surrounding area reportedly led to the recovery of a bag containing two double-barrel cut-to-size guns and five live cartridges.

In a separate development, the Command said operatives of its Raiders Squad on March 25, 2026, at about 1:00pm, acting on credible intelligence, carried out a stop-and-search operation along the Benin–Asaba Expressway, near Custom Market in Oshimili North Local Government Area.

During the operation, the police arrested one Aminu Inusa, aged 23, and recovered a locally fabricated Beretta pistol from him.

The Command stated that both suspects have been taken into custody while investigations are ongoing.

SP Edafe commended the operatives for their swift response and professionalism, urging residents to continue supporting the police with timely and credible information to aid crime-fighting efforts.

He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to ridding Delta State of criminal elements.
