Delta confers JP titles on 46, warns against abuse
Delta State Government has conferred JP titles on Chief Felix Eguare, Chairman of Management Committee, PIA, Jones Creek Oil Field, Ambassador Fred Igere, Elder Wilson Zipamoh of Ayakoromo and other 43.
The sworn-in ceremony took place on Monday, with the Chief Judge of Delta State Justice Tessy Diai administering the oath of office to 46 newly appointed Justices of the Peace.
In her remarks, his Lordship Hon. Justice P.O Onajite-Kuejubola (Mrs), who represented Justice T.O Diai congratulated Eguare, Igere and others charging them to be diligent and impartial in the discharge of their duties to the people of Delta State.
“As Justices of the Peace, you have a critical role to play in promoting peace and justice in our state,” he said.
“I urge you to live up to the expectations of the people and to serve with integrity and fairness.”
Speaking with the press, they have pledged to work tirelessly to ensure that justice is served and that the people of Delta State receive the best possible service.
According to Chief Felix Eguare; "My message to everyone is simple: whatever you do, do it neatly and honestly. Be truthful in your actions and dealings, because people are always watching. Even if you think no one sees you, your conduct is being observed. Avoid bias and act with integrity, so that your reputation precedes you and your work speaks for itself," he said.
On the part of Amb. Fred Igere, he said; "I’m truly honored to receive this recognition, and I accept it with a deep sense of responsibility. I will carry out the duties of this office with diligence, fairness, and integrity, handling every crisis, conflict, or challenge impartially and in accordance with the law.
"This award reflects the work I have done as a peace advocate, serving as an ambassador for peace across Nigeria, Delta State, and my local government. It is humbling to know that my efforts have been seen and valued, and I remain committed to promoting peace and justice in all I do."
Eguare Igere, and Zipamoh, a well-known peace builders and advocates for human development, have been praised by friends and well-wishers for their dedication to public service.
