Ahead of the forthcoming 2027 general elections, a Niger Deltan human rights activist,Comrade Israel Joe on Monday in solidarity with the ongoing protest in Abuja, joined his voice with the call on the National Assembly to approve the transmission of "electronic results" in real time.

Joe made the call in a one man protest in a video in Warri,Delta State. He opined that the transmission of E-results will save the nation a lot. In his words,"What the umpire should do is to check to tally what was sent by the card reader to the iREV."

Joe said,"if the National Assembly fails to approve the transfer/transmission of e-results,in real time, it therefore means they're now planning on how to manipulate and rig the 2027 elections."

According to Joe,"from the echoes of Niger Delta,we are joining our voices to call on the National Assembly to approve those sections that will bring transparency, fairness, freeness and credibility to our elections in Nigeria.

"That's the call we are making and we are calling on all stakeholders, the Nigerian people to prevail in the National Assembly to input this. Anywhere there's card reader, if you can read somebody's thumb, you can also have the network to transmit results."

Joe said the argument by the Senate that there will be no network to electronically transfer election results is counterproductive to a developed nation.

He said,"If we want to grow, we must input into our system, those tenets that are capable of making our system a good and perfect system. So, we are calling in protest and solidarity for the National Assembly to do the needful for 2027 elections to be peaceful, credible, fair and an envy to the entire world."
