A Royal Celebration: Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom to mark 18 years on throne

The Uvwie Kingdom in Delta State is set to host a week-long celebration as His Royal Majesty Emmanuel Ekemejewa Sideso, Abe 1, JP, OON, marks his 18th coronation anniversary. The festivities will kick off on February 7 and culminate on February 18, featuring a 21-gun salute, chieftaincy title conferment, and the launch of the Ovie's biography, "Odyssey of Royalty: The Reign of Abi 1, Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom".

Chief Omafume Amurun, media consultant to Ovie of the Uvwie Kingdom and a member of the organising committee, the event promises to be a grand affair, with dignitaries including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senator Godswill Akpabio, and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, members of the House if Assemblies, ministers, commissioners, traditional rulers and other eminent guests are expected to attend. 

The Ovie's reign has been marked by peace, stability, and socio-economic development, with the expansion of traditional administrative units from four to nine.

The Uvwie Kingdom, known for its warm hospitality and rich culture, is a major hub for commercial and industrial activities in Delta State. The celebrations will showcase the kingdom's history, tradition, and the Ovie's vision for the future.

Some of major towns and communities within Uvwie LGA includes Effurun, Ekpan, Enerhen, Ugboroke, Ugbomro, and Ugborikoko amongst others. The area is well connected by major road networks. 

According to reports, Uvwie is one of the twenty-four traditional kingdoms in Urhoboland and serves as a major gateway to the South-South geopolitical zone. It is bounded by Warri, Udu, Agbarho, and Okpe, placing it at the heart of regional connectivity.
