Okei-Odumakin loses younger sister at 51

The family of Dr Joe Okei-Odumakin, a prominent human rights activist, has announced the death of her younger sister, Comrade Francisca Mebu (née Okei).

The announcement was contained in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Lagos, where Okei-Odumakin confirmed that her sister passed away on Monday in Abuja at the age of 51.

According to the statement, the family appealed for privacy as they mourn the loss.

“While the family grieves over the earthly loss, we request the public to let the family mourn in private.”

The statement also offered prayers for the deceased, saying, “May her soul rest eternally with her maker and guide over her young triplets children and her husband.”

Reports have it that the family did not disclose further details surrounding the circumstances of the death.
