The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr Nyesom Wike, has approved the promotion of over 2,000 staff members of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) and the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA).

The Chairman of the FCT Civil Service Commission, Mr Emeka Ezeh, disclosed this to journalists on Wednesday in Abuja.

According to Ezeh, the promoted officers, drawn from 165 cadres, emerged successful after a Computer-Based Test (CBT) conducted on November 29, 2025.

He described the exercise as “a clear demonstration of the FCT Minister’s commitment to staff welfare and career progression,” adding that the promotion process reflects the administration’s resolve to reward merit and diligence.

Ezeh urged civil servants in the FCT to remain dedicated to their duties, stressing that only hardworking and committed staff would continue to benefit from promotions through the CBT system.

He further assured workers that promotion examinations would be conducted as and when due, noting that the commission is determined to sustain a transparent and merit-driven process.

The commission chairman also called on civil servants to begin early preparation for the 2025 and 2026 promotion exercises, stressing that “only diligent and hardworking staff will be promoted.”

Ezeh reiterated that the commission would continue to deploy the Computer-Based Test (CBT) for promotion examinations, explaining that the system would further strengthen the digital promotion platform recently approved by the FCT Minister.
