Akpomudje leads Olomu people in giving befitting burial to the departed monarch

AS the final rites of passage of the departed Ohworode of Olomu kingdom, HRM Macaulay Ovbagbedia, Osadjere-Uhurhie II commenced Tuesday, Olorogun Albert Akpomudje (SAN) has mustered the Olomu people together in giving final respect.

With sons, daughters and family members of the monarch present at the temporary palace, Ovwor-Olomu, Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State, the socio cultural rites began with service of songs before the Olomu three ruling house were duly mobilized to honour the traditional ruler.

The service of songs presided over by the Most Reverred Cyril Odiboroghene Odutemu who preached in Urhobo dialect titled "All These Things Shall Pass Away' wherein he has admonished everyone to be conscoius of whatever action they undertake while younger, healthy and strong, adding that time has natural way of dictating the pace in due cause.

Odutemu called on all to accept the Messiah stressing that him alone can save.

Speaking on the third day of the occasion, Akpomudje eulogized the late monarch whom he described as a traditional ruler with great wisdom and peaceful disposition towards his subjects.

The Otota held that even though at his nonagenarian, the departed monarch still displayed sufficient sagacity.

The Senior Advocate of Nigeria and next in line to the throne commended the three ruling houses for their cooperation and support. 

With various cultural dances on display, the touch of custom and tradition was well observed as part of the ancient demand.

So far some dignitaries of the Olomu descent have been actively involved in the rites: Olorogun Moses Taiga, Dr. F. Abudu, President General of Olomu, Olorogun Ebenezer Okorodudu, Director of  projects on the board of DESOPADEC;  Olorogun John Oguma, the Odjenigbonwan of Olomu kingdom;  Olorogun Philip Korobor, the most senior Chief, Olorogun Jacob Diejomahor; Olorogun John Ewenede, Secretary to Ughell South local Government.
