GKS Unveils Global ‘Freedom Day’ Celebrations to Mark Christ’s Birth
The God’s Kingdom Society (GKS) – The Church of the Living God – has rolled out an exciting lineup of programmes to mark the birth anniversary of Jesus Christ, with celebrations set to run every Sunday in October 2025.
In a statement by the Acting Publicity Secretary, Brother Emmanuel Oriaku, the GKS announced that this year’s commemoration, tagged Freedom Day, will take place across Nigeria, Ghana, Liberia, the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States.
The services will feature powerful sermons, soul-lifting music, and thanksgiving sessions designed to inspire faith and reflection. Central to the programme are two thought-provoking messages from GKS President, Brother Felix Ekundayo Adedokun: “The Just Shall Live By Faith” and “Was Christ Born on Christmas Day?”
Brother Oriaku explained that Freedom Day is more than just a celebration—it is a spiritual retreat that draws members and friends of the Church closer to the teachings and example of Jesus Christ. “It is a time to reflect deeply on His life and character, and the hope they bring to humanity,” he noted.
Founded in Lagos in 1934 by Saint Gideon M. Urhobo, the GKS has consistently marked Christ’s birth anniversary in October, emphasizing its biblical significance. Over the decades, the church has grown into an international movement dedicated to spreading the gospel of salvation.
With a blend of history, worship, and inspiration, this year’s global Freedom Day promises to be a memorable gathering of faith, thanksgiving, and renewal.
