We have lost a valuable son - Olomu Kingdom mourns Oscar Ibru

The ancient Olomu Kingdom of Delta State has mourn the sudden death of their illustrious son, billionaire industrialist and Chairman Ibru Organisation, Olorogun Oscar Ibru, who died at 67 after a brief illness according to family sources.

Olorogun Albert Akpomudje SAN, Otota of Olomu Kingdom on behalf of the kingdom described the death of Ibru as irreparable loss.

Akpomudje in a chat with Vanguard noted, "It is a big shock to us because he is one of our great sons. We are very proud of him as he has assisted the kingdom in several ways.

"Particularly, when we lost our traditional ruler, HRM M.O.P. Ovbagbedia, Ohworode of Olomu. He was always on hand to help and in anything we do, he always shows his interest.

"We have lost a very valuable son of Olomu. I wish the family sincere condolences from the Olomu Kingdom and I pray the Lord should console them and give them the fortitude to bear the loss." He added.

Late Olorogun Oscar Ibru holds the title of Odomese of Olomu Kingdom as a descendants (grand maternal) of the great Osadjere family of Ovwor Olomu.

According to reports, his family revealed that he passed away after a brief illness. No further details were provided regarding the circumstances of his death.

Oscar Ibru was a notable personality in Nigeria’s corporate environment, Oscar was the most prominent heirs of the Ibru dynasty. 

He played a pivotal role in sustaining and expanding the vast family conglomerate established by his late father, Olorogun Michael Ibru, with key interests spanning shipping, oil and gas, real estate, and commerce.

His death marks another painful moment for the Olomu Kingdom who are planning the funeral rites of their late Monarch who is also of the Osadjere family as the Ibru.
