Delta Man Dies in Motorcycle Crash Hours After Escaping Kidnap Attempt

A man identified simply as Ability has tragically died in a motorcycle accident, just hours after narrowly escaping a kidnap attempt at his home in Delta State.
Human rights activist Harrison Gwamnishu shared the heartbreaking development via his Instagram page on Tuesday, along with a video showing Ability’s body in a casket.
According to Gwamnishu, armed kidnappers had stormed Ability’s residence, but their plan was foiled by a vigilant gateman. The incident reportedly occurred less than 24 hours before the fatal crash.
"Mr. Ability, who escaped a kidnap attempt yesterday, died this evening in a motorcycle accident,” Gwamnishu wrote.
He recalled that just hours earlier, Ability had thanked him for his advocacy work, even offering him a bottle of wine in appreciation.
"This morning, we were at his house. He gave me Four Cousins (wine) and appreciated me for the work I do. This evening, he told them to carry him on a motorcycle to go visit his wife—and had an accident that took his life,” Gwamnishu added.
The emotional post concluded with disbelief and sorrow over the sudden twist of fate.
"A man who survived more than 17 bullets from armed kidnappers yesterday... slept, woke up, and is now being lowered into a grave. This is the worst news.”
The circumstances surrounding the motorcycle accident remain unclear at this time.
