KIDNAPPING: Olomu Community Places curse on informants to kidnapers

In a bid to end the recurring kidnapping of its residents, leaders and stakeholders of Ovwor-Olomu community in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State, have placed generational curse on Informants to kidnappers in the community.
The resort to traditional means follows the incessant kidnapping and the recent killing of a father of three by suspected herdsmen.
PEBNEWS recalls that, a father of three was recently killed by herdsmen after he was chased to his house located at Izigwe area of the community.
The death of the victim, Mr Godstime, a PoP cement seller sparks reactions from the community as his death was described as unfortunate.
The Community President General, Chief Godspower Okagbare had earlier appealed and called for security beef up in the Community as herdsmen do come at will to kidnap residents without resistance.
An anonymous source in the Community who spoke to Vanguard commended the Ovwor-Olomu stakeholders and Leaders of Thoughts, LoTs, for taking a proactive approach in curbing the menace.
"They suspected that some persons are giving information out to these kidnappers as they will come for their target that spoke against them during Community meetings." The source said.
A daughter of a vigilante member from the Community was kidnapped but very fortunately the young girl managed to escape from the hands of her abductors.
The kidnappers had come asking for their father and when they said that their father was not around they pounced on the girl who later escaped.
The source added, "So the placing of curse on anyone from the community giving out information is a welcome development."
