Delta APC applauds Oborevwori for approving over N200 Billion legacy projects across State

The Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his recent approval of landmark infrastructural projects valued at over N200 billion, describing the move as a testament to his administration’s commitment to the comprehensive development and modernization of the state.
In an official statement signed by the State Publicity Secretary, Valentine Onojeghuo Esq, and released on behalf of the State Chairman, Elder Omeni Sobotie, the party noted that the projects reflect visionary leadership and strategic foresight in addressing Delta State’s infrastructural and socio-economic needs.
Among the approved projects are the construction of two major flyovers located at Otovwodo Junction in Ughelli North Local Government Area and Uromi Junction in Ika South Local Government Area. The APC described these projects as critical interventions that will tackle persistent traffic congestion, reduce travel time for commuters, and enhance overall road safety in the state.
“Without any doubt, the construction of these landmark projects will improve road safety by reducing the incidence of accidents that have plagued these junctions over the years. They will also facilitate the seamless transportation of goods and services to local markets and industrial hubs, ultimately boosting commercial activities,” the statement read.
The party further emphasized that beyond easing traffic congestion, the flyovers and associated infrastructural upgrades will improve urban aesthetics, project Delta State as an emerging sub-national economic powerhouse, and stimulate both direct and indirect employment opportunities for skilled and unskilled labour during and after construction.
The APC noted that these projects align with Governor Oborevwori’s M.O.R.E. Agenda, which stands for Meaningful Development, Opportunities for All, Realistic Reforms, and Enhanced Peace and Security. According to the party, the Governor has continued to implement this people-oriented policy framework to address the fundamental needs of Deltans in line with global standards of good governance.
In addition, the party praised the synergy between Governor Oborevwori’s initiatives and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritizes massive infrastructural expansion, job creation, poverty reduction, and economic diversification as catalysts for national growth and sustainable development.
“The synergy between Governor Oborevwori’s M.O.R.E. Agenda and President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda is already manifesting in the lives of our people through tangible projects and policies,” the APC stated.
The party noted that it is no surprise the Governor has earned the sobriquet “Mr. Legacy Projects” due to his administration’s focus on initiating projects that will serve as enduring legacies for future generations.
Furthermore, the APC urged all stakeholders, especially contractors and supervising ministries, to ensure timely, transparent, and high-quality execution of the approved projects to guarantee value for taxpayers’ money and ensure that the projects fulfil their intended purposes.
“We encourage all Deltans to continue supporting the policies and programmes of the Governor’s administration, maintain peace and harmony, and remain law-abiding to enable these projects to be completed without hitches,” the party advised.
The APC reaffirmed its confidence in Governor Oborevwori’s leadership, noting that his developmental strides have continued to position the APC as the party of choice, dominance, and trust in Delta State by deepening internal unity, fostering inclusive governance, and delivering democratic dividends equitably across all local government areas.
“Once again, the Delta APC congratulates Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his visionary leadership, strategic foresight, and development-focused administration that continues to bring hope to the people of Delta State,” the statement concluded.
The party assured Deltans that the recently approved projects are only the beginning of what it described as a “greater harvest of infrastructural and human capital development” that will transform every community under the current administration.
