Reacting to call by Ogbovwan community for Governor Oborevwori's intervention, leaders from Afiesere community have revealed that the people of  Ogbovwan are customary tenant to their community as they denied having any land dispute with her in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.

In a statement signed by Olorogun Francis Onobruchere, he said, "Afiesere has no land dispute with Ogbovwan community."

According to the statement, "To maintain peace, it is important and necessary to notify the government and general public that Afiesere is a peace loving community.

"To put the records straight, Afiesere community has not at anytime have a dispute with Ogbovwan community.

"In fact, Ogbovwan community is a customary tenant to Afiesere  because their ancestral home of Ogbovwan is at about 3km from their present location and the pertinent question is, what is wrong if Afiesere community secured their land by erecting a sign post on their land.

"It is also on record that a meeting of both parties was called to dialogue on the issue and it was resolved that they should meet within a fortnight.

"But it was brought to our notice that Ogbovwan community petitioned Afiesere to the office of the Special Adviser on Peace and Conflict Resolution to the governor of Delta State and did same to the traditional ruler of Ughelli Kingdom and Ughelli Council of Chiefs.

"We have been expecting Ogbovwan community to call us for a follow up meeting, but till now nothing has happened and we have decided to advise our people not respond to any provocation of any sort from them.

"It is on this note, we want to state and mentioned that Afiesere community is at peace with Ogbovwam people.

"As you are aware, there are several land issues and it is on record that the present country home of the person who made that press release is in Afiesere community land.

"It is important for the state government to know that what we are doing is to secure our land, Oil field, and from where we erected our sign board to where our oil field is located belong to Afiesere community.

"We are not at any way oppressing or annexing Ogbovwan community and currently we have not gotten any invitation from the state government or any relevant authorities.
