Oviri Olomu inauguarates Arumala led new executive council amidst cheers

The oil rich Oviri Olomu Community in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State Monday at the Community Hall inaugurated a new Executive Council headed by Engr. Peter Arumala as President General to lead the community for the next three years.

The ceremony presided over by Acting Okpako r’Orere (Eldest man), Pa Evughire Orhoro, and Chief Friday Samuel, Otota, Elder’s Council followed the community’s election held on Sunday 17th March, 2024.

The peaceful event commenced with Olorogun John Ewenede, Out-going President General giving a valedictory remarks and appreciating the community for the support he and his team enjoined during his term.

This was followed with the swearing in of the new executive led by Engr. Peter Arumala as President General and a handing over of power by Olorogun John Ewenede to the admiration of all.

The new Executive are; Engr. Peter Arumala, President General, Mr. Emmanuel George, Vice President General, Engr. Sunday Onojakerhi, Secretary General, Mr. John Ivwromon, PRO, Mr. Akpevwen Unuanovwen, Treasurer, Mr. Aloba Dennis, Financial Secretary and Okiemute Ejoviriyovwi as Assistant Secretary.

While praying for the new leaders, Pa Orhoro charged them to build on the existing peace and excellent leadership of the past executive, he charged them to take the community to a higher level.

Arumala in his speech promised to be transparent in his leadership and call on all sons and daughters of the community to rally round his team to achieve a greater Oviri community.

The President General also called on those who contested with him to join forces with him as the community needs all ideas and synergy to get to an enviable height.

Olorogun Austin Etata, Outgoing Secretary and a President General aspirant who lost to Arumala said that the election is past and he is ready to offer his experience when needed. He admonished all others to join forces with the new leadership.
