Those who have been trained to take over Delta Council leadership, Akpodubakaye declares

The Vice Chairman of Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State,High Chief Arthur Akpodubakaye today said those who have been trained should be allowed to take over leadership of the Local Government Councils in the State. High Chief Akpodubakaye made the assertion during a chat with newsmen in Warri.He insisted that those who want to be trained should come in as "Councillors".High Chief Akpodubakaye noted that the Local Government Council is a place where future leaders are trained. According to him,"We all have a right to participate but I am just educating our people. The times of using elective position for compensation to thugs is over. We need capable hands."He noted that he is trained to serve his people and that he had served in various capacities including as former Secretary of the Council.High Chief Akpodubakaye said the Local government councils had trained capable hands since its creation.He again, congratulated the Deta State Governor, RT.Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for his victory at the Supreme Court. He commended the judiciary for delivering landmark judgements including that of Delta State Government. High Chief Akpodubakaye said criticism is allowed in every sectors of life but critics must be constructive in their criticisms. "Let me congratulate our governor. We give thanks to God Almighty. Whatever has happened is a learning process to the governor because God's hand is upon him and no one can arm twist Him. God gives power. Not human being."He noted that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori had performed creditably well with his MORE Agenda for the State.He said despite the supreme court case which he won, he contracted the services of Julius Berger for the construction of fly overs and bridges in the State.High Chief Akpodubakaye said, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori means well for the people of Delta State as he had approved the payment if bursary for students of Delta State origin which according him will commence by February this year. He added that he had not left the youths behind in the scheme of things pointing out that he appointed a good number of youths into his cabinet as Commissioners.High Chief Akpodubakaye was quick to enjoin the youthful appointees to work for the position given to them by the governor in line with his MORE Agenda. He said in the areas of security the governor had also done well as the citizens now enjoy maximum peace across the State. High Chief Akpodubakaye further added that the governor approved 104 billion to cushion the effects of the fuel subsidy on civil servants across the State, approved five billion naira for payment of promotion arrears of civil servants  in addition to another forty billion naira as salary for teachers in primary and secondary schools.He added that the governor had also commenced the construction of Uti and Old Abraka-Umutu road rehabilitation amongst others. High Chief Akpodubakaye said Deltans should thank Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for the good works he is doing.
