Delta: Sapele agog as Anglican church holds service of songs in honour of mother of former first female ambassador, Chief Alice Oyibo Ogbon

Sapele town in Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State was in agog today as the Cathedral Church of St. Luke held a service of songs in honour of the mother of Nigeria's first female ambassador, Chief (Mrs.) Alice Oyibo Ogbon JP (Nee Oborirhohwo).The brief event held at the Cathedral Church of St. Luke, Diocese of Sapele, Anglican Communion in Sapele Local Government Area.In a sermon delivered at the service of songs held in honour of the mother of the late ambassador, Rev.Canon Francis Onoshefe enjoined Christians to always prepare for death. He stressed that it is important so that death will not take them unawares. Present at the brief event, was an Aide to the Deputy President of the Senate, Mr. Godwin Anaughe and former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, RT. Hon. Monday Ovwigho Igbuya.The late Chief (Mrs.) Alice Oyibo Ogbon JP (Nee Oborirhohwo) was predeceased by her eldest child, Ambassador Elizabeth Ogbon-Day and was survived by Prince Godwin Ogbon, Princess Stella Ogbon, PST. Princess Ese Jessie Aghayere, Princess(Mrs.) Gloria Uduka, Princess Eguono Ogbon, PST Princess Tega Ogbon and Princess (Mrs ) Fejiro Kalu. She was also survived by a man,  grandchildren and great grand children and a host of other relatives and adopted children.Chief(Mrs ) Ogbon was an elder sister to the mother of DAILY POST Newspaper Delta State Correspondent, Mr. Matthew Omonigho.
