Police Arrest 58yr old Gunrunner, Nine Others In Delta State

The Delta State Police Command's Anti-Cult Unit, SACU led by SP Christopher Igbaji have arrested a fifty eight year old suspected gun manufacturer, Peter Okolie and nine (9) others all from Agba Quarters Emuhu  in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State.The Police also recovered from the suspects, forty-two (42) locally made single barrel guns, six (6) double barrel guns, three (3) pump action guns, two (2) filing machines, and a tool box containing fabricated materials working tools.The arrest of the suspects were based on credible intelligence received by the Delta State Police Command that a syndicate which specializes in manufacturing locally made guns.The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe confirmed the report in a statement signed and made available to newsmen.DSP Edafe noted that Commissioner of Police, CP Ari Muhammed Ali detailed the SACU which carried out intensive raids on criminal hideouts in the area and in the process, recovered the guns mentioned above.DSP Edafe said,"exhibits in custody and investigation is ongoing."According to him, CP Ali commended the team for the successful operation and assures all residents in the State that the Command will not relent in the fight against crime and criminality, noting that Proactive Policing and Community Police is key in this fight. "He  adjured all to continue to partner with the Command by giving useful, timely and credible information that will help the Command to Nip crime in the Bud."
